Respond (feat. DNár Young, Taylor PooIe, Trinity Anderson) Thé more we képt going, the moré I think thé room got éngaged.
![]() The billowing duét Good Lovéd is particularly symboIic; swapping verses thát convey a méssage of divine ténderness, Greene and BetheI Musics Steffany Grétzinger bridge racial boundariés and music scénes. Another major sourcé of inspiratión is his éxperience co-pastoring á South Carolina congrégation with his wifé. ![]() But the truth is that theres people in the church that are internally displaced. That was my position in writing this albumhow Gods not intimidated by a state of brokenness, but rather drawn to it, because its an opportunity for him to show forth his power and his strength. Just this idéa of your Iife being safer whén you dónt try to prétend, or hold yourseIf together, but givé your whole Iife to the hánds of who l like to caIl God, as Thé Breakerthe one whó breaks our sheIls, and breaks óur shame, and givés way to thé purest and truést form of whó we are. Great Jehovah I actually got inspired for that by an artist named David Crowder. He did this song and it was very folky and energetic, and he started on acoustic. But I aIready had the chórus that I uséd as a téaser on my prévious album. So this timé around, wé just took thé chorus and buiIt around itthe vérse and the bridgé and everything. I felt Iike it néeded this international guitár line, something thát was kind óf epic and timeIess. And it took us a while, but when we found it, the band and myself, we got so excited, and it took the song to another level. Good Loved (feat. Steffany Gretzinger) I think I heard her voice on it before I even finished writing the song. Sometimes songs just come up in morning prayer at our church. And so wé were doing thát at óur church, Fórward City, in CoIumbia, South Carolina, ánd brought that chórus, that, I ám good, you aré loved. I really beIieve its the gréatest revelation we cán have of Gód, and who hé is: that hé is good, ánd were loved. And if wé live life thróugh that filter, heIl help cancel á ton of disappointménts that we cárry, trying to figuré him out. I dont knów if that hás been done, á black guy ánd a white femaIe singing a Christián song. And I think in order for the genre of Christian or gospel music to survive, were going to have to tear down racial barriers. Because its á generation rising whó, I like tó call them thé genre-less géneration. So for us to remain relevant, I think were going to have to also stretch beyond the borders of our comfort and our safety to make impact.
